About Sarathi Portal Guide
Sarathi Portal Guide explains driving licence services in India in plain language: the Sarathi portal, learner licences, driving licences, tests, renewals, road signs, traffic rules and fines.
We are not a government website
Sarathi Portal Guide is an independent website. It is not run by, or linked to, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the National Informatics Centre, Parivahan, Sarathi or any state transport department. We do not take applications, fees or documents, and we never ask for your Aadhaar number, OTP or payment details.
Every application, test booking and payment happens only on the official government websites, which we link to on each page.
What we do
- Step by step guides for each licence service, written for first time applicants.
- State guides that tell you which official system your state uses.
- Free tools: a learner licence mock test, a fee calculator, a licence validity checker and a road sign chart.
How we check facts
Rules, fees, forms and penalties on this site come from official sources such as the Motor Vehicles Act, the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, government notifications and the official portals. Each page lists its sources and the date we last checked them. Read our fact-checking policy.
